This is a training console for a made-up coal wash plant. It shows what software-only scenario training can look like, without a full-scope simulator or any plant hardware.
- Simplified process. Medium density sets product ash and yield, magnetite is lost through the magnetic separator, the sump fills and empties, and the thickener bed rises when flocculant is short. Simple lags and noise, plausible numbers, not engineering-grade. Some events are sped up so a scenario fits in 10 to 20 minutes.
- Interlocks. Drives start downstream first. Starting a drive before the one it feeds is blocked, and stopping a drive stops everything that feeds onto it.
- Tied to competency items. Each scenario is linked to named competency items (for example CU-200-04 Respond to a dense medium pump trip).
- Evidence for sign-off. Every action is time-stamped. The result card checks the key criteria and gives plain-text evidence a trainer can review and sign.
- Stand-alone. One file, works offline on a laptop or phone, never connects to a real control system.
A real site version would be built from the site's own flowsheet, P&IDs and procedures, with the dynamics and pass marks signed off by the site's own experts.
